I went to two different colleges, one my freshman year and then transferred over to my current one. The question I have is that when I apply to PT schools, do they just look at my gpa from my current school or the one i transferred from as well? I know it's sort of a dumb question because some of my pre reqs were taken at my first college but I just wanted to make sure. Also, do we ever turn in transcripts to the PT schools? and if we do, would I have to submit 2 transcripts? Thanks!!!

Assuming you apply through PTCAS, yes: you must submit transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended, so that includes the college you attended freshman year and your current college. What GPA (overall from both schools combined, pre-req, last 60 credits, etc.) they look at depends on what school you apply to.

Generally, once you get accepted into a PT program, you will be required to submit the transcripts directly to the school to show that you have successfully completed your degree.

Another note: Unless otherwise stated, transcripts must be issued directly from your undergraduate institutions to PTCAS and/or the PT program. They cannot be issued to you and then mailed to the PT program or they will be considered unofficial.

So I'm assuming I must also turn in transcripts from the community college courses I took in high school as well?

That's an interesting question... I would say ask the schools you plan on applying to. Is the CC where you took classes in high school the same place where you went freshman year?

I did 40 credits through a CC while in HS. They will show up on your transcript. Once accepted to PT school they will only need the tranny from the school that issues your BA/BS degree. In the mean time you will be sending ALL your trannys to what ever schools request them - most require them for your 2ndary apps. in addition to the PTCAS ones that were sent. and these will need to be official send directly from the schools. $$$$ I had 2 CCs and 1 from undergrad BS. Good luck

b33feater, are you aware of PTCAS? This is where you submit your transcripts to. They then send them to all the schools you apply to through them. That way you dont have to go out and apply to each school individually. It is all done through one online site. Also, make sure the transcripts are officials and not student copies.

Once accepted to PT school they will only need the tranny from the school that issues your BA/BS degree.

Not necessarily true for every PT school. The one I will be attending in the fall requires that we send all post-secondary transcripts this summer. This is to verify the grades we received in pre-req classes taken at community colleges and to verify the completion of our BS/BA.
