I have done 6 semesters of work at my university and 38 hours at a community college before starting at the university.

CC
2007-2009 3.62 @ 38 hours

U
F2009 - 2.17 @ 14 hours
S2010 - 3.20 @ 15 hours
F2010 - 3.18 @ 9 hours
S2011 - 3.13 @ 13 hours
F2011 - 4.00 @ 17 hours
S2012 - 4.00 @ 17 hours

Currently taking 3 semester hours during summer and will do fall and spring semester afterwards. Possibly take an extra year if necessary to bump gpa up.

So if it were only based on overall GPA how bad is this? Would any MD school even look at me? Or even a DO school?

How do you have a 4.21 GPA for spring 2012? For application purposes, GPA is normalized to A/A+ = 4.0, so until you do that for your GPA, the numbers you have don't mean anything.

This was a copy and paste from the a grade summary on a university page, so all GPA should remain the same other than the 4.21 is the only semester with A+'s.

Right now you are below average for MD schools, and a little below average but near competitive for DO schools. A good MCAT score will boost your chances with both. Another couple semesters at a 4.0 combined with a high MCAT should give you a good shot at MD schools and make you nearly a shoo-in for DO schools (assuming you have strong EC's.)
