Hello everyone,
I was transferred from a community college and I had a 3.6 GPA. But my GPA came down a little bit when I got to the university and I am a senior right now. So my question is, are they going to average the two GPAs? Because I made all As in my science classes as well as other core courses. It’s the electives that f me up….my science avg is pretty good.

Thanks

Pretty good question. I have heard conflicting reports. The first says that schools skim through and look only at the cum. BCP and Overall GPA, regardless of what school. Others with different standards say that the rating of the university you received your degree from matters a lot. I think initially, they won't be averaged. I'm not adcom by any means... I would assume with what I have heard throughout my research on the topic that if they are interested in you (if you make the first cut) and they pull your app aside, they will look at that aspect in more detail. AADSAS takes care of the GPA though. I doubt schools have time to calculate it out or anything with the bulk of applications. Again, I could be wrong. I'd be interested in what inside sources someone has that could actually answer this with a definite response either way. Good luck to you...all.
