Hi i was wondering how does the optometry application account for transfer grades (i.e. grades that were taken at other institutions) - do they make a new gap calculation on the app by considering every class you have taken?

Also I am wondering is it required that transcripts from all institutions where you have earned college credit need to be sent with your app, or can you leave out credits that you don't want them to see/transfer over?

Last question, I have A and P I transfer credit that I earned during junior year high school because the course was an honors course associated with a medical/health professions school...would this satisfy most of the optometry school's "recommendations" to take A and P, or should I just take it at the university/real college level?

And is A and P I enough or do they like A and P II?

Any help would be really appreciated.

As far as gpa recalculating, OptomCAS does most of this for you. This is why you have to input all the course names, numbers, and your grades into their database. While I was doing this I was irritated because it seems redundant when they are looking at official transcripts, but they use it to take different requirements into account. I'm doing one at community college now since i finished undergrad in may of 10.

What I was told is that any anatomy and Physio course should be ok. Not all schools require it since you take gross anatomy first year anyway. I would call individual schools and ask if you are concerned about it not being ok since its from high school. Every school has its own requirements and this is generally why in the exit file interview they let you know if you are missing anything.

are all official transcripts required (like med school) or can you leave out grades from transfer transcripts that you wish not to include?

And anyone else have any insight on the anatomy question...I know most schools do not require a and p but most "recommend it." is a and p 1 enough???

I'm very sure you have to disclose all grades.
