For the entering class of 05, are the grades for the fall semester of 04 taken into consideration before acceptance is mailed out.
(p.s. I am taking about schools that have the deadline for application in january and march).

i do not think so because they start giving acceptances on dec 1 and at least at my school fall semester isn't even over until dec 10-ish and grades won't be out for a week after that. i heard that aadsas sends you a "grade update form" sometime during spring semester so schools WILL get to see your fall grades, but i don't believe they affect acceptances unless you failed classes or something (or you usually get A's and you get all C's so they know you are slacking 🙂 )

That depends on WHEN you applied.

If you applied early and have had interviews PRIOR to the Dec 1. date, then the grades don't matter much (except that you complete the courses you told the adcom you would complete/earn a degree if you told them you would).

However, for students sending in applications in January or February, they must have that part of their transcript included or the application wouldn't be complete.

true... i guess i assumed nobody would wait until january to apply! gavin is right, if you apply after grades have come out then i guess you have to include them on the application.

How strict are they on this topic? Is it true that is you get c's and above you are ok? I saved two of my toughest classes for my final year so I would have a higher GPA for dental applications.

HAHA Johnson i did the same.

Gavin: One of the classes I wrote i would be taking i'm not. its not a prereq for dental school or anything to do with my major. I just couldnt get the class when i registered. you think they will care? no right especially since ive had my interviews before dec 1.
