heyMy BDS aggregate is 61.8% and i dont have any back logs....can anyone tell me how much will my gpa be (approx) and will it be competent enough to apply to a dental school?
m really tensed about this...pls help me

all depends on which university/state etc...some universities throw marks..like everyone scoring more than 75% 80% in bds as well..and in some even getting 65 is considered to be very good...so gpa depends on that...as well but without any back logs and 61.8% most probabaly you will have a very good gpa ...may be more than 3.5 ..so relax

Score is not ideal but you still have a chance. Do as many research projects, volunteer camps, pass both NBDE and score high on TOEFL. With some hard work you can suceed

Even i agree with gracey 14.
Try getting your GPA evaluated by WES. You can send those reports to schools that accept WES reports. Hope this helps.

Actually m from Andhra Pradesh and i graduated from NTR university of health sciences

ntruhs...you may get around 3.10 to 3.30.....out of the 150 total marks if you get more that 95 marks you will be getting "A" grade...94 and less will be "B"....GPA is given for a total of 19 subjects. Lets say you get 50% A grades and %0 percent B grades...then probable GPA will be 3.4 to 3.6....you can calculate it like that...but don't forget , if you think you deserve more GPA then you can request ECE to reevaluate for free with in a span of first 6 months....My suggest would be ECE evaluation is more useful than WES....All colleges accept ECE and ADA too requires ECE.....

Thank u so much...but i dint understand one thing...if i get more than 50% A grades and 50% B grades ,then my gpa will be between 3.4 and 3.6....is that right?I have only 8 A grades and 11 B grades

Hey thank u once again....I am from 2010 batch (BDS - 2005 to 2010)...and the total for our batch is 150.not 200.I mean each subject was for 150 and there were 17 subjects and 2 preclincal exams for 50 each😊

Hey drindia,
Dental schools look for a Gpa above 3 and in your case there's nothing to worry. Hope this helps.

its not excellent but its fair...not bad at all...most require 3.0 so ur definitely safe

Most require 3? On which school website have you read that. Majority of schools require at least a 2 and some 2.5

I have passed NBDE part 1, My GPA is 2.5, TOEFL score is 98. I have worked for 4 years as a general dentist and a lot of Voluntary work in India.
Can anyone please let me know what are my chances of getting into a dental school?
