Do any GPR/AEGD programs last 2 years? Is it common for Dentists in those programs to apply for specialty programs, and if so, is that looked uopn favorably for admission into a specialty? Do tell...

im not in dental school yet, but gpr/aegd are 1 year. It prob helps to do them before applying to specialty programs. Not sure how many people do it.

There are some aegd programs that last two years, and some specialties do consider it an advantage like endo. I dont think it matters for oms or ortho. I'm not sure about the other specialties.

There are also several GPR programs that are 2 years or have an option for a second year.

I think an extra 1-2 years in an academic setting would always be a plus when applying to specialty programs.
