Can someone please explain to me the difference between General Practice Residency and Advanced Education in General Dentistry? Is one necessarily better or more difficult to get into than the other?
in general, gpr's are hospital based and focus on treatment for special needs/geriatric/medically compromised patients. they also tend to pay a higher stipend. aegd is based at the dental school and focuses more on endo, implantology, esthetic dentistry, or whatever other procedures you want more experience in. aegd pays a little less of a stipend. there are lots of great threads about these residencies if you do a search.
