Hi everybody,
I'm currently an intern dentist in Alexandria, Egypt and I am preparing for the NBDE part I exam. My level in English is good too so TOEFL won't be a big problem. My question is if I get good scores in NBDE and TOEFL what are the AEGD and GPR programs that are likely to accept me. I have a list from the ADA that lists universities and hospitals that accept foreign trained dentists but which of these programs actually admitts foreign trained dentists who don't have a green card ? Plz anybody share your experience.

Thanks.

try Florida programs-Nova, Community Smiles, UF etc. Good luck.

BU AEGD currently have foreign trained dentists who don't have US DDS/DMD.
Other programs I know of are Rochester, Lousiana. I personally know ppl going to these programs, but I am sure there are more programs that accepts foreigners. check PASS for each program

does anyone know what are the Admission requirements for AEGD program at columbia university. I couldn't find any information in the website and they don't reply for my emails. Thanks on advanced.

I remember a dentist who didnt redo dental school, went to columbia and did the AEGD program then went to a state that accepted AEGD and he started working, you can try that or just redo dental school 🙂

Hello Frineds

I would like to know which states allow /licence foreign dentist with only AEGD and no DDS? And do they have to face any problems while searching for a job or is it the same as after DDS?

Do you know which state he went to?

I worked with a guy who graduated dental school in India...came to the states did 2 years of GPR
and is now practicing in Ohio.

I did GPR with a guy who was foreign trained (Egypt) he did 1 year AEGD in NOVA (Florida) and 1 year GPR in Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury CT. He's now working in Virginia i think they only need 1-year residency + boards.

check the state dental board websites and see which states need what. They keep changing the rules and regulations.

Thank you and by the way, is he working as a general dentist in Ohio? I'm asking to know about the residency prospects, Thanks again!

Yes, he's working in Ohio and as far as I know the program is foreign grad friendly.
