So I spent the past 2-3 months contact professors from Clinical Psych Ph.D. grad programs. I narrowed down my selection to 8-10 schools, and gave my list to my recommenders a week ago. Last night one of my recommenders--my most important one, whom I researched under as an undergrad--emailed me and told me that she could not honestly endorse me as an applicant. It was actually a long email including other things I have been doing wrong or she had a problem with for a while. I responded and apologized for some of the stuff (e.g. being unprofessional).
Basically my goals of going into a Clinical Ph.D. program have taken a blow. What should I do now? Should I start looking into Developmental programs? MSW, MFT or other service-related programs?
