Hello all,
I need help with my dilemma. I was enrolled in OChem II as well as the Lab. I passed the lecture with a C, however, I "earned" a D+ in lab. I didn't believe it, so I asked to see my grades. I received zeros on a day I had been sick. I emailed my doctor's note to the TA and Lab Coordinator but apparently they never received them. The only proof I have that I sent it is a screen shot (I was told to delete my email and call the university when I was finished with my courses because this is not my home university, prior to deleting I screen shot them). The TA and LC find it hard to believe that an email sent to two people could have gone missing, but I REALLY DID SEND IT. Is there a way to search the school server or anythinggggg that could help my grade get changed back to what I deserve? I'm panicking because it will hold be back from Biochem Lab as well as destroy my GPA.
Thanks

What difference in your grade would it make if they believed you?

How long ago was your absence? I think you should have been proactive about following up with the people early on.

If they believed me, they would alter the grade which would be either a B- or C+. I agree that I should've been more proactive. However, the syllabubs stated that no makeup periods were allowed, etc. When I didn't receive a reply, I assumed they had received the note, and it was taken care of. My assumption was totally my fault.

It should be in your "sent messages" folder.

You can also ask your doctor if s/he'd be willing to re-send the note. A C+ in the class isn't going to do you any favors.

I had to delete all my emails, due to the fact that it wasn't my home school. My doctor didn't send the note. I sent it as an attachment. A C+ is a lot better than a D+.

Contact the school's IT department.
It's going to depend on their setup but they may be able to restore your email account and deleted email, or trace the email to figure out why they didn't see it. Whether they'll actually go through all the trouble or not is another story.

Do you still have the copy of the note? If it's dated, it will help you convince the TA that you are telling the truth. How do you know if the TA has really searched his or her inbox thoroughly? Maybe it got sent to the spam inbox?

1. If you can't recover the email, it is very unlikely they will do anything.

2. Just because you are sick, does not mean you can just leave it missing. It is still missing and you won't get a grade for it.

3. Why didn't you keep track of your grades earlier?

Sounds like a SOL situation - sorry dude.

Ps. Always CC or BCC one of your own email I'm case some sent folders are occasionally emptied.
