helloo all,
would any carribean school accept somebody who got a D in one of their classes. CUz i ****ed up in Orgo 2 so i was wondering if they would? or how bout I take Biochemistry 1 and get a B or something, would that look better>

it can be done, depending on your final overall gpa and mcat. i had an F, several C's, and an incomplete and went to sgu with a 3.0 overall undergrad gpa. it hurts that it's a major premed class, though. any possibility of retaking the class? if so, kick it's butt, do well in the rest of your classes, and get into a US school.

In most universities, you cannot get less than a C in a required class and get credit for it.

That is true...u should maybe go to ur premed advisor and have him check out ur transcript...finding out in the last minute that u have to retake a class cuz u didnt get credit for it sucks!

Just retake it with a different professor.

I got an offer with a D+ In endocrinology. Granted all my other grades that semester were As and one B.

@DoubleDoctorate Are you a pharmacy student who is leaving pharmacy to go to med school in the Caribbean?

I am finishing my PharmD in 30 or so weeks. Then going to medical school. Hopefully to a U.S. one but as of now the only offer I have is RUSM.

Did you apply to DO schools?
It didn't really occur to me to do so until recently. I want to practice in Canada and DOs aren't really a profession here yet. However it is starting to trend so I will be applying.

I'm also thinking about Australia, thoughts anyone?

Defer your acceptance to Ross. Work on your grades to get into a DO school or if its already good enough for DO, take the time to reapply next year appropriately. You'll have a far better chance of matching and becoming a physician.
