Just to make sure I have got this straight...

For AACOMAS, when you retake the exact same course, the latest score will be the only score factored into your GPA?
I understand that when applying, you are required to submit ALL coursework regardless of score, but the 'old' scores will not be at all calculated into the GPA?

For example, I made a 'C' in Human Anatomy, then retook the exact same course and made an 'A'.

As far as calculating GPA goes, it is as I never took the first attempt? No form of combination or averaging, right,?

Thanks for clearing this up....

it will be averaged unless you designate it to be a replacement.

Ok, should have mentioned that I will not be applying for a while.

Just want to get this cleared up now so I know where I stand. (as my university GPA calc will differ from the AACOMAS calc)

you should be fine. the only problem that potentially may occur is when you take it at a university that is on a different hour system such as quarter vs semester. even then you are still ok if you have more hours in the replacement class.

Gotcha, thanks for the links!!

Make sure the replacement course is the same amount of credits or more. I got screwed by not knowing this - I retook three 5-credit courses as three 4 credit ones and they ended up getting averaged into my GPA 🙁

There are 2 courses available at my school, one of them is a 1st year and the other one is 3rd year. They are the same exact course but 1 gives you credits for 3rd year and the other one gives you credits for 1st year. The University also warns students that they will receive credits for only 1 of the courses since its the same course. If I 'repeat" the course by taking the 1st year course, will this be a repeat or a new course in AACOMAS eyes?
