Hey everyone newbie here. Had a quick question. I know D.O. programs take grade replacement does that mean it has to be a post bacc program? or can I just go back and retake my bad grade courses with better grades. Sorry in advance if I posted in wrong thread. Hope everyone is doing well.

You can retake the course at a community college if you want. Post bacc not required for grade replacement

Awesome thanks I appreciate it. Is there a maximum amount of retakes you can have? Or can I retake every course ive done poorly in. I have a great trend gpa but want to bump it up as much as I can. Do they look at trends with any weight?

You can re-take as many as you would like and you should probably have some A's or B+'s in upper level bio courses (or other natural sciences) with your upward trend.

Also, make sure that the retakes are exactly the same or very very similar (same credit count, same/similar course title, etc.). AACOMAS can be a hassle to deal with if there is any discrepancy.

Trends are good and definitely considered by admissions, but better to have the higher GPA than a good trend, which is why retakes are great.

Awesome thanks everyone for your imput....this is a second career for me so the road ahead will be interesting
