I am applying to med schools now, but I need to take 2 prereqs (english and biology course), before matriculation, and I intend to do this spring 2011. I am also on a waitlist at my top choice...

is it unheard of to ask my teachers in spring 2011 to send an e-mail to the dean of admissions of my "grades to date" in their courses, but in like march/april? I ask because I won't receive my final grades till the end of May, and most waitlist movement at said school occurs in late April/early May. Has anyone done something like this? Or is it questionable

It's questionable whether a grade update letter would significantly help your chances on the wait list but an update letter with 'potential grades' would probably get you laughed at in the admissions office.
