Hello, I am preparing to apply several physical therapy schools in United States. I many schools required grade is above C (C- not accepted).
Unfortunately, I have one C- from a physic course!!!! It is too bad because I contacted the PT schools that I was going to apply and they said I have to retake the course with C- to meet their requirement.
Fortunately, I have two PT schools that could accept C-.
However, I want to apply many PT school so that I could see better possibility to get into PT program.
Here is my question. Do you ever have experience that you have applied many different PT program with C- even though they required you to have grade above C. I have one C- from my physics course, and really do not want to take it again.

I was actually wondering the same thing. A few programs I have checked consider a C-minus as Cs, while others have gone out of their way to state that C-minus is not acceptable so I really think it depends on the program. As to what the "usual" policy is, I don't know. Anyone else care to respond?

I think most places require a minimum of a C or higher, at least at all of the programs that i've looked at. I think retaking it would also increase your overall GPA since a C- is a 1.7, so you should take that into consideration because it'll probably make you a stronger applicant. As to the school's you're applying to, if they say they accept C-, then it's up to you. But if it were me, i'd probably retake the class.

I got a C- in O-Chem. Would I be able to list that as my second semester of chemistry for schools that accept C minuses and tell the schools that don't that I plan to retake it next semester? I actually will retake it should they accept me, of course.

which school did you find that they accept grade c-?

I havent seen any programs that accept anything below a C. With that being said, I'm no pro at this, as I am about to start applying, but I would suggest you re-take that and get that minus away. I have a C in chem II and I'm worried about that grade. Good luck

Just put down that you will be taking it this fall/spring, and do it, and apply to the places you WANT to. I found this out the hard way last year when I wanted to do PA school, I limited myself to 3 schools... (not with a C-, but I didn't take A&P...) and well, I'm so happy I'm not doing PA anymore 😛, but now that I found my "calling", I'm glad I have all of my pre-req's and I can apply to ANYWHERE I want 🙂
