At least at my school, professors talking about relevant material that ISN'T on the powerpoints occurs very seldomly. I can only think of two questions that I couldn't look up in a power point after taking 5 tests this semester now. (This isn't even a problem at all if you can listen to recorded lectures.)

If you're able to skip class and do the work, skip it. Class sucks.
