Just curious how many of you are graduating in December and headed to dental school next fall. Where are you going and what are your plans in the interim?

I'm hoping I can find a good full-time job somewhere before I move off to dental school, but I'm finding that having a degree in Biology and only 7 months or so to work doesn't equal to a real great job. Any good ideas?

good luck finding a decent job just with a BS in biology unless you have significant lab experience or know someone somewhere. i tried.. got no where.

You can try looking outside the lab setting too. I have a BA in Molecular Bio (Damn Berkeley says my major makes me artist!) and work in pharmaceutical reimbursement consulting. My company is contracted by pharm or device companies to help develop policies with insurance companies or Medicare on how to make sure their products are covered appropriately. I have no economics or health policy background, and neither do most of my coworkers. Starting pay is around $45k.

Also consider such areas as clinical research($50k+) or pharmaceutical sales($60k+commission). Both pay loads more than what a lab rat might make.

No matter what you decide on though, I wouldn't mention to them that you're planning to go to dental school if you want any chance of someone hiring you for a FT position.
