I wanted to ask this of both allopathic and osteopathic fourth years.....

Has anyone ever heard of being given 'tickets' for guaranteed seating for
family/friends at graduation? Something along the lines of being issued
x number of tickets (say 4) to give out to family/freinds and then everyone else you invite gets seated in a first-come/first-served basis?

Sounds kinda squirrelly to me but I didn't know if it was common?

We don't do tickets, but the school basically says, "Don't bring too many people because they won't fit."

my school took a count on how many people we were inviting, but never really issued tickets... I think they might have if people had tried to bring too many people.

My school is issuing tickets, 6 per graduate. My undergrad did too, but I don't remember how many it was. 10 I think?

Yeah...why would that be "squirrely" - my university graduation weekend typically had 10x the number of people in attendance than would fit in the hall where the actually ceremony took place. If they didn't give out tickets it would have been a madhouse.

My school gave out tickets. 4 or 6 per graduate, I think. People could turn their tickets back in to the administration to allow for other people to bring more. In the end, I think everyone got enough for the people they wanted there.
