I'm currently taking Kaplan's GRE On Demand course (last resort)

Has anyone taken one of Kaplan's GRE classes? If so, how much do you think it helped you or how much did your score improve if you had already taken the GRE beforehand? It seems to be a really good system for studying, but I have always been bad at standardized tests.

Thanks for the help!

What areas are you struggling in? When do you plan on taking the GRE?

When I scheduled my GRE, I left myself about 4 weeks to study. Knowing that I only had a limited time, I focused my time on math and pretty much skipped over verbal since I knew it would probably take A LOT more studying time to improve verbal than quantitative. Anyhow, I picked up the Princeton Review GRE book and went over the math problems and took a practice test in about 2 weeks time. It helped refresh my memory as far as math was concerned.

Have you looked into this book yet?

I have the Princeton review book - that's what I used last time. so far, the concepts/tricks they are teaching in this class are pretty similar
Since this is my 3rd time taking the test, I figured I shouldn't take it again without doing something different - I didn't plan on taking the test again at all, but my parents suggested the class - so here I am
Ideally, I would like to improve my score by a ton, obviously. My GPA is a 3.3 so I feel like I need a good score, not the just minimum, to supplement my GPA

I haven't scheduled the test yet, I'm planning on early November, but I'm trying to gauge how long this class is going to take me (It's an online class that I complete at my own pace) In the meantime, I'm keeping an eye on the testing dates to make sure there are still seats open.

I took the practice test and it told me my 3 worst areas..which I can't recall off the top of my head but 2 were in math, 1 in verbal - I attribute this to not having looked at that material in over a year, those formulas easily slip my mind - on the actual test I did okay on math, it's my verbal score that is holding me back but on the first practice test in this class it was the opposite, so who knows

I do take 7 practice tests and tons and tons of quizzes with this class so hopefully I just improve all around

thanks for the tips

Haven't done Kaplan's class, but I have their math review book and their verbal review book... I'm about a third of the way into both of them, and they seem to be helpful!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.. a 3.3 GPA is nothing to really be concerned about in my opinion.
