GRE preparation

Hi all, I am planning to apply to a masters and they are requiring GRE scores (I asked to submit my DAT scores but they said it was not acceptable) and I was simply wondering if anybody here has taken it.

I am graduating on May 22 and I would take the GRE on June 5th. The director of the masters said I don't need to do amazingly well, just "good enough". So essentially 2 weeks of studying before it. Im going to post my DAT scores so you guys can give me an opinion on if it is enough.

my DAT scores are as follows:

PAT:21
QR:20
RC:20
Bio: 20
GC: 22
OC: 21
TS:21
AA:21

So has anybody taken both the DAT and GRE and can comment on my situation/how difficult it was?

I took both. DAT in January 2015 and GRE Summer of 2013. I got 23 AA on the DAT and a 166 Math and 156 Reading on the GRE if I remember correctly (which is ~90 and 70 percentile, respectively).

Math on the GRE is about the same difficulty as the DAT, IMO. Reading is harder on the GRE than DAT: there are more conceptual/internalization/critical thinking questions to answer. Search and destroy is very difficult to do on the GRE whereas it was my primary method on the DAT. That being said, I studied quite a bit for the DAT and practically none for the GRE.

My advice would be to put in a couple weeks worth of reviewing SAT/GRE reading prep and going over any math formulas/concepts that trouble you.

It's for masters program and you got 20 on RC, so you don't really need to study hard for it, if at all. I would just do some practice tests and see how you do. If it's not horrible, you are good to go. Masters take anyone as long as you have money and okay grades.

I took GRE years ago and ranked about 25 percentile in verbal section... And I have 22 on RC in DAT...

did you have to retake? The department head told me I would basically just need to do decent... not really sure what that means

I got into my program because my overall score was not too bad (I had perfect in math section).
