I was just wondering if we could get a list going for all schools regarding their policy for GRE scores when they are taken more than once. I have seen that some schools take the highest scores of each section from different exams, the scores from the most recent exam, and some who average the test scores.

I was also wondering if the analytical portion of the GRE matters much to schools, I have read that some schools specifically state they do not look at the analytical portion when making admissions decisions. I have taken the GRE before and got a 4.5 and am retaking it next month and was wondering if that would be sufficient assuming the school takes the highest scores regardless from what exam you received the score from.

Thank you

I just looked at UC Davis's website and they take the highest score and they really only care about the quantitative and qualitative scores.

Take Highest Score
UC Davis

Just to be specific and to help later posts:

Takes highest score of EACH section
UC Davis

So, I'm bored, so here's this. But for pete's sake, people - check these facts for yourself before counting on them as absolute.

Takes highest score of EACH section
Auburn
Cornell
Missouri
UTK
UC Davis
Washington

Takes highest score on a single test
Florida
Iowa
Kansas
Louisiana
Michigan
Minnesota
Mississippi
North Carolina
Ohio
Oklahoma
Penn
Tufts
VMRCVM

Averages all scores
Purdue

You tell me
Georgia
- If you take the GRE more than once, the highest scores you achieved will be considered.
Western
- If taken multiple times, all scores will be considered, but more weight will likely be placed on the later score.

Also, Georgia no longer requires the Biology GRE. Holding out to see if Oklahoma drops it as well.

ETA: Emailed Robin, and yes, Oklahoma is dropping it as well. Starting a new thread. 🙂
