Easily. I studied for 1 month using Gruber's Complete GRE Guide and scored almost identically on the real exam (317) as I did on that book's practice tests (317-319).

Is it possible to go from a a 295 on the GRE to a 310-312 in 5 months? I prepared on and off for a month prior to taking the GRE the first time. It seems impossible 🙁 but I really need to get it up because my overall GPA isn't very strong.

It's definitely possible. With standardized tests, simply taking the test again can result in a higher score due to familiarity of the test. I recommend using some sort of study program - I used The Princeton Review online and found it really helpful.

Magoosh is an awesome study tool. Others on this forum seem to have benefited from it as well. I improved my score by 20 pts. the second time around with a consistent two weeks of studying. I'd say my success was largely due to the video lessons Magoosh offers & an overall increase in Test day confidence after going through so many practice problems. Look into it!
