GRE vs MCAT

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
probably because many use to require the VCAT, which was discontinued. Rather than switch from vet to med, they just went to GRE.

This is just speculation, but they're also probably not terribly keen on a bunch of people applying as a "backup" to medical school or something, too.

More speculation, but most vet schools require more upper-level Bio classes. Those classes require good knowledge of intro science classes so maybe they figure if you can do well in them you would also do well on the MCAT? Just guessing here.
