sumstorm Full Member 15+ Year Member Aug 7, 2009 #2 probably because many use to require the VCAT, which was discontinued. Rather than switch from vet to med, they just went to GRE.

bunnity Penn 2014 10+ Year Member Aug 9, 2009 #4 More speculation, but most vet schools require more upper-level Bio classes. Those classes require good knowledge of intro science classes so maybe they figure if you can do well in them you would also do well on the MCAT? Just guessing here.
