Great EC but okay GPA....Help?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For many DO schools, you'd be fine applying with your cGPA of 3.44 and an MCAT score of 26+. For MD, you'd have a chance at some less-selective schools with a 3.44 cGPA and an MCAT of 33+. If you wait to apply until next year and get your cGPA up to 3.5+, then an MCATof 32+ would be your goal.

Yeah that sounds good but my problem is I have a 3.44 GPA with 210 units. I will probably take me forever to be able to get it to that level. Should I look at post-bacs?

With 210 units a postbac of straight As won't help your cGPA much. But if you don't have recent excellent grades, a postbac would still help to establish a trend of recent excellent grades, which adcomms would regard positively.

BTW, you are aware that the DO application service only includes the most recent grade if you retake a class, right? So that would take out the negative effect of the Ds and F on your cGPA/sGPA since you retook them.
