Um, if your advisor is the one who told you about it, wouldn't he/she the best person to find out those details from? Not trying to sound sarcastic; that just seems like the logical thing to do. In any case, i've never heard of such a thing - which doesn't mean it doesn't exist of course.

My advisor said that there is a green book that talks about each anesthesia residency program, like what the average Step 1 scores are, how many people they take, etc, etc. Does anyone know what this is and where I can find it? Thanks

if i remember correctly it is the graduate medical education handbook and details all residency and fellowship programs. not necessarily ranks them but provides information on salary, number of residents, amount of call, past performance of boards etc... it can be found easily at any medical school library or i guess the American Medical Association who publishes the darn thing. But nowadays its pretty silly since everything can be found online..

sort of like calling a college and asking them to mail you a brochure.. theylll say hey look on line..

I remember seeing such book. It wasn't really that useful. Pick a few states where you would like to live. Apply to the better programs and cover your azz by applying to some crappy ones if you are concerned.

I haven't heard of this book, but have you heard of "The Anarchist Cook Book"? This was a cool black book (although I think it may be illegal). It had cool descriptions of how to blow up bridges and make a bug for spying on people, etc. The cool part, however, was how to get high from stuff in your house, like smoking the inside of bananas, or smoking peanut shells, or taking nutmeg, etc. As you can guess, I think it was written in the 60's.
