Hey everyone,

I took the GRE's to get into an SMP program. I noticed that you can optionally put your scores in your AMCAS application. Should I put it there? What is advised?

Thanks!

Sure, why not? I put my ASVAB on there.

I don't really know what is considered a good score. I got a X Verbal, X quantitative, and X writing.... I didn't study and just took it as a formality to get into my SMP.

Would I be under the wrong assumption to think that it can only hurt my application?

Look up a good score. If yours is considered good, then put it on your app. Otherwise you are under no obligation to report a crappy score. It is like makeup. Use the stuff that makes you look good 😀

Ha! Thanks. I see a lot of marketing sites for "good scores". Do you know of any websites that would give over the type of score a medical school would expect someone to get on the GREs?

They don't care about your GRE. They expect a good score on MCAT. So go according to what a business school says is good. If someone on the board, who has some knowledge about a good GRE score, sees a good score it will probably just make them think a little more favorably. Most likely they won't look and just go right to your MCAT.

According to the chart above, you're in the 81st percentile for Verbal, 60th for Quant, and you're in the 98th percentile for Writing.

Best of luck! 😀
