So I have a test on the cardio block on Friday, which makes me wonder...do I study on Thursday night, or do I devote my Thursday night to something much more important, namely Grey's Anatomy followed by ER?

Discuss....

haha... i have had this exact same thought. friday tests would suck now. Do you have a TiVo or DVR? I have an idea! AMSA and SOMA should get together and ask ABC to move Grey's anatomy to a different night so as to allow medical students to only loose one hour of studying a night and still be able to watch both shows. Forget combined match junk, or decreasing health care coverage stupidity, we need to focus on what's REALLY important!! :D

Well, I would personally watch Grey's. (We just had quizzes today and I procrastinated yesterday by watching a couple of episodes). But, if you really feel the need to study, you can just watch Thursday's episode after your quiz from here: http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing ABC streams many of their most popular shows from here for free (you just have to put up with 3 30-second commercial breaks).

You saved my TV-addicted life!

Now I can have the best of both worlds, studying and Greys...plus I can watch TV during class! What a development! I think I'm still going to watch it live, though. It's always better that way;)

I had exams this past week and I tape recorded Greys and ER. I watched them this weekend, before my path exam on Monday. Abby in ER happened to go into DIC during the episode-- a topic on my upcoming exam-- and with the visuals (including removal of an enormous clot) I'm thinking studying by watching ER (and Greys for that matter) might be the way to go.

the medicine in Greys is terrible! the ethics are worse. but i still love the show ;)

u can always DL the episode as well.

is there somewhere to stream nip/tuck online?

Dr. Burke is a cardiothoracic surgeon so I'd say that watching IS studying.

Thursday nights are best spent watching The Office. Sure, Grey's may have some great characters, but they don't have anyone nearly as awesome as Dwight Schrute.

Grey's Anatomy is such a terrible show. I can't see why everyone likes it. It's essentially just another bad soap opera. Ellen Pompeo is a terrible actress too. Perhaps if they had a REAL actress play the lead role then it might be able to compensate for the terrible plots. On second thought, no it wouldn't.

The Office is the REAL Thursday night show. Rainn Wilson is an EXCELLENT actor and has developed Dwight into the most interesting (and hilarious) character on TV right now. That "gaydar" bit at the end of the season premiere... priceless. Although I will admit that the Jim/Pam angle is turning into a Grey's anatomy style angle. I don't like it.

Btw, you people need to learn about BitTorrent. It is THE way to keep up with your TV shows during med school.

Ok, now bring on the flame posts from all you chicks who live by Grey's Anatomy.

I try to be as much like shrute as possible, including looking at gay porn in class and claiming it is "research" and I was told to do it by whatever administrator I can think of

I laughed so hard at that episode my neighor thought was wrong. It is just a laugh out loud funny show, I can't bliev I am saying this but it is better than curb your enthusiasm (stll a great show)

Hey, it beats studying. What I don't understand is why it has to be medically innaccurate. When you're ABC it's really not that hard to get a doctor consultant. Like the plague thing. Antibiotics, hello.
