Does anyone in here know exactly what a Publix or any grocery store pharmacist gets paid? I was wondering if is close to what CVS, Walgreens, etc. pays. I hate to ask a pharmacist at Publix straight out unless I have to. I would like to work at Publix, but I am not willing to sacrifice a $20,000 pay difference to do so. I will work at Walgreens and learn to deal or move up into management. Thanks to anyone that has any info!

publix pharmacists make just as much as any other retail pharmacist. Sometimes a little more than a CVS pharmacist if you get the right store.

In my area, pharmacist make 99K per year at Publix. They also get a Xmas bonus equal to one weeks pay, and Publix stock. It's a sweet set up, but it's hard to get in there. You may have to start part time and wait for an opening.

I don't know about how hard it is to get in... I work for Publix and they seem like they are always looking for more pharmacists. They open new stores quite often and all new stores will have pharmacies.
My understanding is that all Publix pharmacists in Florida make the same amount, raises are given across the board. The pharmacy manager makes like $47/hr and assistant manager about $45/hr roughly. This may have gone up recently, I'm not sure.
And you also get private stock, 401K options, bonuses, vacation etc.

They've been planning on opening a store really close to where I live for almost 3 years. In that time, several thousand more people have moved to my area. The Publix hasn't broken ground yet, so we have to drive 15 miles to another Publix that already serves a huge population. It is jammed all the time. I hate that market. They could have built the store earlier. The land was prepped and permitted over a year ago. They just want more people so they are guaranteed huge profits.

My neighborhood has lots of pharmacists. That Publix won't have any trouble. The pharmacists that drive up to Spring Hill can now stay close to home.

move to an area where there are a lot of publix stores (miami, lakeland, orlando/tampa, jacksonville, atlanta, columbia SC etc...) and getting a job is no problem
