Hello everyone,

i was comparing the curricula of dental schools and realized that some of the schools dont offer Gross Anatomy or the Head and Neck anatomy at all... and this is something that i belive it should be part of our studies.... what do you guys think??? should this be a concern?

what school's don't offer it? I know some (like mine, Michigan) don't do full body extremities so we can focus on the head and neck but I can't belive that any school wouldn't have it as part of the curriculum. That'd be as bad as not teaching pharmacology, it's essential.

i have never heard of a dental school that doesn't offer gross.....even though that was a challenging class it was one of the more interesting!🙂

cross the dental school that does not teach gross and/or head&neck out of your list. If you don't take that class in d-school. How do you do boards? Pressure?
Go to a cheap state undergrad near by to take gross.?
🙁

Thanks to all of you who responded.... i couldnt belive that a schoold wouldnt offer it either, so i called the school and found out that it is one of those integrated courses and its called BioMed systems. ... they teach you the Entire body's Anatomy, physiology, AND pathalogy all in one course!! isnt that convenient??

After some research I discovered that some schools offer Gross Anatomy in the winter term of Freshman year. I think this would be an advantage to the student. What do you guys think?
