One of the programs I applied to conducts two group interviews on their interview day. Does anyone know what this entails?

I am a pretty reserved/shy person, especially in group situations, so right now I'm being pretty negative about the whole thing. I have pretty much convinced myself that the only purpose of a group interview would be to identify the extroverts in the group.....which means that I would probably get weeded out at this stage....and therefore shouldn't waste my time or money going to an interview that includes a process certain to select against me?

Any thoughts?

please don't flame me

I personally don't really like that idea, because I too am a fairly shy person if I don't know anyone very well... I'd feel like everyone was trying to out do the other people there and that you could never really get to know the people for who they really are. That's just my opinion though...
