GH increases lipolysis, stimulates hormone sensitive lipase, but inhibits lipoprotein lipase. What's special about LPL? Wouldn't stimulating LPL help in increasing availability of FFA?

Not all lipoprotein lipases are created equal. Mentally divide them in to storage LPL (expressed on adipocytes, capillary endothelium) and energy utilizing LPL (muscle).

GH inhibits the adipocytic LPL and thus prevents the storage of FFA in adipocytes.
