I'm on just one waitlist and supposedly this school only takes 5 to 6 off the list after June 17. Guess I have to try again and reapply. Should I wait or reapply NOW!
Contact them and see what advise they tell you (e.g. "if you don't hear from us by X then reapply"). If they don't give you anything substantive, then wait until early/mid July and then reapply. Also, don't forget to send them a letter of intent if you haven't done so already. In the meantime get your application ready and polish up your personal statement.
One thing you really should do is contact the school(s) you got rejected at. Many schools will counsel applicants as to what was "wrong" with their application. At least knowing this stuff you can make your case a little better the next time around.
One of my friends was on a waitlist for dental school a few years back. She didn't end up getting in, although she was near the top. The school offered her a spot in the next year's class. Does this ever happen with med school?
Ya, I have an uncle who was wailisted at dental school and was offered a place the next year. Sounds like dental schools do this, but I don't think we're so lucky when waitlisted at a med school.
Get your application ready, don't wait. I am in the same position as you are. I am on just one waitlist. People say it is a good list to be on but it hasn't been moving fast enough to ensure me to wait. So am preparing for re-applying in the early July. There is no time to make major changes to the application, but I changed slightly my PS and got an additional LOR. I know how you feel. I couldn't make myself to start looking at my AMCAS appn. Just couldn't beleive I have to go through this aGAIN. Unfortunately this is the only way to do it. Hang on.
