Guess what physicians had the biggest jump in compensation in 2014...It wasn't pathologists

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
But of course!

And CMS' solution? Cut pathology reimbursement even further, in the hopes that that will correct in-office path lab income.

The fact that our income went up 3% in the face of a 6% total cut by Medicare is an ominous sign. Means more and more pathology groups are absorbing the caseload of retirees and vacancies. The job market is looking to get worse, not better.

There are always ways around cuts...You know that.......Find other ways to game the system. The payers taketh and we taketh back. We will be screwed when bundled payments take over. Completely at the mercy of others. Then it will be end of days for many and you will see what the real pathology market is.
