The key is your skills are in such demand, recognize your worth and only take job at a place where you are allowed the freedom to do the things you want to do. But yeah thinking about everyone I know working in this field doing really cool stuff they all have advanced training schools with top programs (UW, Stanford, Cornell, etc)
