Hey guys I was wondering if you guys could help me out. No one in my family is a doctor so I'm kind of winging this whole process. I'm currently a second year and have a 3.73 gpa. My real question concerns ECS. I currently have around
150 hours clinical volunteering
150 hours non clinical volunteering
100 hours shadowing
In 4 clubs not including honors societies
Two semesters of research (and continuing)
Tutor for student resource center
And a few less important things

I was hoping you guys could tell me how to improve my ECs before I apply assuming I keep around the same gpa and manage a good mcat score.

Thanks

Looks fine if you keep it up. I would try to do something you are passionate about so that you can build a story for your personal statement and reasons for going into medicine. Looks like you've checked a lot of boxes, but now you need to become unique.

I feel like there's only 2 criteria for being premed.

1) Knowing why you want to go to medical school.

and

2) Knowing you can handle medical school.

Don't worry about checkboxes. Answer those questions honestly when the time comes and you'll get in. The ECs will come naturally through the process of answering those questions.
