These are schools that receive over 10,000 applications every year.

I was going to apply to these schools as well, But...I thought over
and questioning myself if it's worth it.

Do you guys think it's worth applying?
I am sure it will be very competitive considering the number of applicants,

Does anyone have applying experiences with those schools?

lol

Go to "What are my chances?", post your stats and ECs, and then get back to us.

Otherwise nobody will have any idea what to say.

These schools aren't worthwhile to apply to as "safety" schools.

However, if OP has outstanding EC's including a lot of non-medical community service, has a MCAT/GPA within the average range for matriculated students, and genuinely likes the schools, he/she might legitimately consider throwing his/her hat in the ring, with the understanding that it's going to be a bit of a crap shoot.

Do you think you're better than me because you scored a 14 in verbal?

These schools were most definitely an anomaly for me, as they weren't the most prestigious programs but received the most amount of apps - thereby creating a ridiculously competitive and confusing 'pool'. When I called G-town, I asked the adcom what the average accepted MCAT score was and he responded that it was a 30 (which is lower than the accepted data on the AMCAS...maybe he was telling me the matriculated student's data?)

Either way, what I'm trying to get at is that statistically these schools are not at the top and so getting into these schools may mean that you have to fit a very specific/narrow category, which shows up through your ECs and personal statements.

I know for certain that these two schools also ask the question "Why do you to come to..." in their secondaries.

I second what everyone has said about these schools. I was invited for interview to both Tulane and Temple, and they both have tons of applicants. I don't have superior numbers, but had a great *fit* with them. So I don't think they just draw a name out of a hat, but actually look for people who are likely to go there.

I'm applying to both, but I did my undergrad at G-town and would be psyched to attend either. They're both good matches based on my numbers, too. I think that you should apply if you really do want to attend.

Yes - yes she is.

I have one friend still waitlisted at a few MD schools. including GWU. She's from the midwest, pretty awesome, but applied alittle late. But hey - atleast she got an interview there! so there's a chance....

If you have the money, go for it. there's always a chance.
