Hey SDNers!
I have an interview at GW scheduled for next Thursday--just received the invitation on Saturday. (kind of short notice) Can any of you make any reccomendations in terms of hotels or which airport to choose, etc.
Also, does anyone have any idea of how many spots they've already filled?
thanks!

definitely fly into Reagan b/c you can take the metro straight from the airport to the medical school. Also, there's a hotel called One Washington Circle hotel which is right across the street from the school and the metro station. It's about $120 a night I think, but you won't need a cab the whole time there if you fly into Reagan and walk to your interview in the morning. it's a pretty laid back typical interview, except they don't give you enough time for lunch!!

Congratulations! - that's so good to hear that they are still inviting people to interview. I was waiting to hear back from GW. I know GW does phone interviews if you live really far away, did anyone happen to use this option? And do you think it's detrimental to your application at all?

just wondering for those of you who did get invited to interview how were you notified...??? i was wondering how late this school interviews and if we can still hear from them.

Got my invite by mail: a regular size (but thick) envelope. They're really bad with notice (I got only one week notice for an interview on Valentine's day). When I called them, it seems that they have almost filled up their interview dates, but hang in there; I withdrew my app and I know of one other SDNer that did too.

Great advice above. I think I got a discout because I said that I was interviewing at GW. Also, try the restraurant in the basement - it at least has atmosphere.

Just fly to Regan the night before, take the metro to One Washington Circle, wander GWU's campus (and the Himmelfarb just so you know where you're going) and the neighborhood, and then walk to your interview in the morning.

definitely fly into Reagan- it's about 15 min. by metro from the school.

call darrell in the admissions office in advance- and he can set you up with a student host. otherwise, there are several hotels in the area- GW Inn, Doubletree (both 1/2 block from school), one washington cirlce, and the Watergate (which you can decent rates for online)
