Hey all,
I’m seeking advice on deciding between George Washington University (GW), Drexel University, and the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) as I consider my medical school options. Coming from a small town in Georgia, I aspire to pursue otolaryngology and want to choose the institution that best supports this goal. I’m particularly interested in the clinical and research opportunities each school offers to help me match into otolaryngology.

I don’t really care for what the cities offer since I don’t come from a big city (we got a Starbucks last year). I more care about their student life, ability to help students match, academic teachings, and resources for desired specialties!

I don’t really have a pros/cons list except for MCG being 35k a year cheaper!

Any insights or perspectives that could help me make an informed decision would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I would say go to MCG; even if tuition was the same at all 3 of these choices, they are all in a similar tier with similar matching prospects for competitive specialties. When you factor in the $140K saved and being able to stay in your home-state (if that’s a plus) then it looks like a no-brainer. Congrats on the As!

GW and Drexel are both good schools—with their best point being that they're in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. It seems like you don't care at all about that at all. I don't think that there will be any real difference in matching into a competitive field such as ENT. Go for MCG.
