Did anyone hear from GWU's waitlist last week??? Or this week by chance??....

I received an email earlier today asking if I was still interested in being considered for admission. Guess we'll just have to wait and see..... or hear :laugh:
 
I know the waitlist is moving. I was accepted off of it about a month ago. Good luck to all those who are waiting...write lots of LOI if you really are interested and committed to going. They are only going to ask people who if accepted will really go to GW next year.
 
I know a local doctor who went to GW and she says there's always a lot of movement on their waitlist so if you're really interested, you have a great chance. Hang in there guys! I'm pulling for you 🙂
 
i just called the admissions office today and they said a lot of movement will happen this week and next. i hope we hear good news, gdub is still my number one choice. gluck people!
 
This is my first time posting on this site. I am also waiting for GW. I heard that GW med does have pretty good waitlist movement but I have not heard many people getting off the waitlist this year. Does anyone know how many people are on the waitlist for GW this year? or how many people are typically get off it each year?
I sure hope my luck chances soon.

still no word, i'm gettin worried. i called them again and they said movement is random from june through august.
 
Hi, as much as it hurts to post this--I just talked to the dean today and it was not good news, at least for me. She just let me know the truth--which I appreciated, and said that there hasn't been much movement this year off the waitlist and it is somewhat overfilled already. She told me that she didn't think that I would get off the waitlist for this year.

This is just for me though, and there might be people that move off the waitlist. I am pretty much accepting the fact that I am going elsewhere.

I know a few people going this year who deferred their acceptances from last year, so maybe that is happening more lately and affecting the waitlist, or maybe I just happen to know the only two people who are in this position and it means nothing.

My fingers are crossed for you all.
 
It's too bad there isn't much movement this year. I heard from my premed advisor that this was a "particularly tough year to apply." I think it makes sense since the economy is so bad many college grads can't get work so more people are probably applying to grad/professional school. Good luck everyone though. Maybe it'll pick up soon 🙂
 
I have a friend who deferred his acceptance to GW until this year. So there may be in fact several people who have decided to matriculate at GW this year, but were admitted other years. Good luck to all those still waiting to hear, I hope you get in!! 🙂

more bad news. i got a response back from diane after i emailed her and she said movement has been extremely quiet this year. she doesn't know if movement will pick up or not. she said the class has been overfilled, which sucks, big time. i hope we hear good news, DC rocks and so does Gdub. gluck people! also, for those of you that heard back from gw off the waitlist, did they contact you by phone or email, or both? thanks.
 
when I got off the GW waitlist I was emailed directly by Diane McQuail. I hope the waitlist does move. Goodluck to all those still waiting 👍
 
The waiting is really tough. I hope movement picks up eventually and we all hear some good news. Good luck to everyone and let us know if you hear anything! 🙂

Yah, one Dean of Admissions told me that the national number of applications to med school is inversely proportional to the national number of applications to business school. So as soon as the economy turns south and corporations start firing people, everyone our age applies to med school. It is kinda disheartening?but go figure!
 
I go to GW, and I honestly say that there is not much movement this year. The past few years have seen a tremendous amount of movement, but this year was more competitive than in the past

I haven't heard anything in a long time now. Also, this thread seems to be a little inactive. I'm hoping this is just a lull, and that things will pick up again sometime soon. I wonder at what point do things really begin to look bad? Now, the end of June, July, August? Good luck to everyone! 🙂
 
Because of the lack of movement on the waitlist, I am beginning to think it might be a pretty big class! All the better for me to pick my husband from. Haha....just kidding.....sorta.....

Did anyone else get an email today asking if they were still interested in remaining on the GWU waitlist? Has anyone accepted off the waitlist gotten this in the past?

Considering that Ive written a few letters expressing my interest...I do not know if this is because they have recently started considering me more or because I was recently accepted off the waitlist somewhere else and they saw that I was holding two acceptances.

Dont worry other waitlistees...Im only holding one acceptance now.
 
If you intend to go to GW if you get off the waitlist then reply to them ASAP. They called me 2 years ago with the same kind of question- since they knew that I was holding other acceptances.
 
I didn't receive an e-mail like this. The last time I heard from them was when they sent out my original waitlist letter, which did sound a lot like your e-mail. Good luck to all!

My friend just gave up a spot at GWU earlier this week - so I hope one of you gets that spot ! Let us know if you do!

I got the call this evening. I haven't decided but we'll see what happens. I actually really, really, really wanted to stay on the east coast. But I got off the waitlist at UCLA too a few weeks ago.
 
Bump again. Doesn't look like anyone has any news. However, I guess there is still some waiting to be done. Classes start on the 23rd right? Good luck to all. 👍
