are malpractice rates malignant in this field as for general ob/gyn? how competitive is it to get in? are there any "fast track" pathways for gyn-onc? any other info?

From my personal research of this subjec
1)Since GYO's don't deliver babies, but do operate - malpractice is similar to gen. Surgery in your part of the country
2)There are no fast tracks - it is a 3 year (or sometimes 4 with extra year of research) fellowship. Last year there were only 32 spots available.
3)If you are trully interested - try to do residency in the institution that has a GYO fellowship (true for any fellowship).
