Hello everyone

I have absolutely no idea how to do H-NMR spectroscopy. I have looked at almost every youtube video and have literally spent 2 days 10 hours each looking at videos as well as class time listening to my teacher teach it. I can not get it through my head on how to do this.

Can anyone list me some steps for the simplest way to do it?

I am so depressed how I can not figure this out. Please let me know.

Did you try Chad's videos? The whole section was only 30 mins, I think, but that included other NMR topics. I felt that it was helpful and I had 0 knowledge. Of course, you need to supplement it with practice problems to ingrain it.

It is under ochem. Sorry, the video for NMR is actually 45 mins, but it is worth it!

It costs to see the videos, but you can do a one week free trial on the front page to see if you like the videos. If you end up not liking them or if you are done watching, just cancel your subscription and there will be no charges to your account.

Look up on SDN to see reviews about the videos so it will prove to you that they are legit!

I'm not affiliated with Chad's. Just used the videos and felt that they helped.

do you have any free alternatives instead of Chad's videos?

I agree with @wuhsabee that Chad's videos are very helpful. I'd recommend exactly this as well.
But if for some reason this isn't attractive to you or you end up trying it and are unsatisfied I know the Khan Academy does a comparable job, though it's fairly less interactive.
Additionally, if you've spent 20 hours studying one topic then you may know more than you think, or you need to adjust how you study. Whichever it is, the answer is practice. I would recommend above all else to increase the amount you're practicing and make sure you review your answers so that you learn something from the ones you get wrong and reinforce your thinking from the ones you get right.

try freelance teacher on you tube and search proton nmr. You will be gold

The only way I figured it out when I was taking OChem, and relearning it even now for the MCAT, is do practice problems over and over looking at a graph. Some of the time the question may not include a spectra graph, but the answer explanations do. I like how Berkeley Review explains NMR, especially how neighboring protons come into play because I didn't understand it until I read it 2 weeks ago. Best of luck!
