Hello all,
Does anyone knows how likely is an h1b sponsored for prelim IM positions?
FREIDA mentions that programs sponsor h1b, but does not discriminates between prelim VS categorical positions
I want to apply to neurology, and my only possibility is through H1.

It will be institution dependent. Given the costs involved in an H1b for the institution, it wouldn't surprise me if they were unwilling to sponsor an H1b for a prelim only. If you match into prelim IM and Neuro at the same institution, that would be different. Still, the only way to know is to ask.
