You can call, but they sound pretty specific on what they want. Are you a minority? If not, your chances at these schools are relatively slim anyways regardless of your stats.

if asians cinsidered as minority, i m...if not i m not!...i guess just wait on emore yr...🙁

I think you're out of luck. Asians are pretty well represented in the healthcare fields now I believe.

If you've been reading the school websites carefully, you will notice that they ALL want everything done by the spring of your year of entrance (i.e. If you want to enter Fall 2007, then you have to graduate no later than spring 2007). You can't take anything during the summer in between...I guess you should refigure your schedule...Good luck.

i do know most schools require appli to graduate b4 they start d-school...but i didn't knew about "can't take summer"?? i just talked to someone at howard and they lady said if u graduate by june 30 (my summer 1 ends on june 27) ask ur advisor to send a paper saying that u will graduate by the cut off date...

anywya do u guys think i should take more credits then usual >17?? or waht to do?

Well, I go to a UC and most UCs end around mid-June. Therefore, our summer courses will definitely NOT make the June 30th cut. I guess it depends on the school you go to also...

exactly...my undergrad has ss1 mid-may to june 27 and ss2 july - mid aug...

if this is the case, graduating in ss1 is still not allowed/acceptable? it is way b4 the d-schools starts!!!

"All prerequisite courses and units listed below must be completed by June of the year of you intend to enroll." -UNLV

"Although all course requirements need not be completed at the time of application, they must be completed by the end of the spring session before the desired date of enrollment." -UCSF

Some of the other schools I checked didn't mention anything about a deadline...so in conclusion, there is no conclusion - you'll just have to call the schools individually cuz they have different policies! 😀

thanx for the info...but i m not applying to these schools...dont feel like calling and getting disaapointed so early...wish u understood...will wait for them to let me know if they reject me on this ground...

umm...and waste your money on secondaries?

unfortunately i have send the secondries already!

it doesn't doesn't matter how many credits you had when you applied. They look at when you matriculate into d-school. If you don't have enough credits or did not graduate yet, then they'll revoke your acceptance.

that means if i get accepted, i should have graduated b4 i start the first day of class?? then why not they count summer session1 atleast... in my case cuz my undergrad finishes ss1 b4 july...

like I said...different schools have different policies...call the school and ask them, don't ask us SDN people...we're just as clueless

Dear Hopeless,

Your arguing a meaningless point in this thread. We're not in charge of changing the rules at the schools. If you really want to get done in time without wasting all this time and money, just take an extra 3-4 units each semester and get it done.

You found a problem with your plan to enter dental school that could keep you out of some dental schools and the way you plan to react is by sitting on your a$$, doing everything the same as you planned, and hope it all works itself out somehow. Why don't you just figure out how to fix the problem and do it?

dear djeffreyt,

for u it might be meaningless...and nor i m asking or expecting any1 to change the rules...the reason for posting the thread is to hear from someone who might be in a similar situation in the past...the bionerd replied me and i followed him in answering...and btw thanx for ur suggestions...

If you can keep your GPA, take more courses.

That was a mature way to answer back...I have to admit...after posting what I did I realized I was being a bit of an dingus and expected you to ream back...applauds for taking the higher ground
