Should I be happy?...or is it possible that I unconsciously knew all the answers already? It seemed that I was a lil more relaxed...and...I dunno..I spent the same time in each section..it wasn't like I didn't even read the passage and went to the answers..I was done with PS with 6 minutes to go...VR with 3...and the Bio...that's my best one...and I usually go through it pretty quickly...

I don't know..for the people who do the same test twice...what do you think?
I'm kind of happy...with this 32..it makes me think that I didn't know what I was doing the first time I took it..maybe I wasn't concentrating...and I know I didn't make the same stupid mistakes...

This is funny...but at least I know I can at least get a 32 🙂
I'll do 5R (for the first time), this sunday....I'll keep you guys posted 🙂

I never re-took any tests because I felt that if you saw a passage twice, it wouldn't be challenging enough to be worthwhile. I'm assuming you saw the answers once before when reviewing the test after the first time you took it, so that will definitely elevate your score. Your performance on 5-7r (or whatever tests you haven't done yet) will be much more useful for gauging what you can do.

You aren't allowed to do the same MedCAT twice, you goofball

I know that...I just wanted to see if I really truly learn from my mistakes. Maybe it was dumb for me to do this...but you know what? At least it gave a sense of confidence I didn't have before...false confidence? maybe 🙂 But it was one more practice...and I feel one exam more comfortable when I write 5R this sunday...we'll see if it was worth it

BTW I don't appreciate the "goofball" part 😛

I agree 100%

When you take a test for the second time, you should expect your score to go up. You obviously will not remember every single question, but you will remember some. You can not trust the score you get when taking a test for the second time.

true, therefore i'd want to remember 100% of it. i don't even count those scores; it's practice but no reflection of what you'd get on the real thing...

What were the intervals between taking the test. Like did you take it last week and then took it again, or had it been 2-3 months. I think if you have a span of at least 2 and 1/2 months youre scores will be more accurate. Just make sure when you are answering the questions you think about the concept before looking at the answer.

I would not recommend re-taking a test even if you didn't score it the first time. This is not a true indicator of whether you truly understood the concepts and ideas presented the first time. You only have one chance and one shot on the real test, so you might as well get practice on answering questions once and getting them right. On the other hand, if you took the test like 3 months ago and you're really tight on practice material, then it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to redo a practice test. In short, I would not recommend it.

Good luck! :luck:

It is definitely false confidence and I would be really careful. You have to ask yourself if you would feel that confident on MCAT day compared to taking 4R the second time around.

Ok Ok Ok..I know all this. Is not like I'm only going to take 4R a thounsand times and think I am ready for the real thing (which is in 2 weeks btw!)...I plan on taking 5R (for the first time) this sunday...I am also taking 6R and a few EK exams before I take the real thing...
I just feel like this test is totally doable and a good score is not out of reach...if you study and practice. Confidence is a key element in this game...and whatever gives me that...is ok by me. I am sure my scores will improve as I do more practice tests...the first time around...

rock on karina, you're right, confidence IS key! i've realized too that the mcat is a very do-able test and confidently going in there and going after it will make all the difference. go get em 🙂
