Does anyone have any advice for me? Im currently a highschool senior and I wish to pursue pharmacy. I applied to tons of schools and I got accepted to and scholarships to all but 1. My top choice was Howard University but I recently found out their accreditation is on probationary status. (I was sooo mad when I found out) .......My top choices now are: Rutgers, Hampton, Temple, Pittsburgh.....and im thinking of applying to Florida A&M. Does anyone know anything about Hampton's school of pharmacy.??? Rutgers is a wonderful school but I grew up in jersey and I really need a change of scenery!! DOES ANYONE HAVE ADVICE FOR ME?????

I also got accepted to: USP, Long Island Univ, St. Johns, University of Buffalo.......

I lived in FL all my life, and FAMU was my second choice over UF. FAMU has a huge reputation of being very competitive with their selection of students, and I understand they have a very successful graduation/licensure rate for their students. That is just what I know from considering going to school there, but I hope it helps!

I guess my response to you may be different from some others because I have endured a few years of paying off graduate school loans from a very expensive private institution (not fun...trust me). You said that you applied to several schools and received several scholarships. I would go with the school that has given me the most scholarship money as long as it is a school that you could actually see yourself attending. If you have for example received full scholarships at more than one school then I would choose the school with the best reputation (which can be subjective) or is the best for you from a geographical perspective (would you want to live in that city/state, do you have family or other support structures there?). From what I have been reading on the boards, what matters most in this field is that you receive your degree from an accredited school, not so much that you have attended the top ranked school. If I could avoid massive debt in the end, that would be the option that I would choose.

Congrats on getting into so many schools! I think that Rutgers has a 0-6 program (St. John's too, maybe; I don't really know much about schools on the East coast). I would make those my top choice, just because then you would be able to avoid the hassle of applying to the 4-year program after getting your pre-reqs done. If all them are 0-6 schools, I'd do as the above poster suggested and pick the one that offers you the best aid package, as long as that school is one that you think you will enjoy attending.

One note, though - if you do decide to go into a 0-6 program, be sure that pharmacy is what you really want to do. I wouldn't want to box myself into a program like that unless I was 100% set on that as my career. You're only a senior in high school - you definitely could change your mind.

Congradulations!!
I thought Hampton University was still interviewing?? I did not know they had acceptances yet, but I guess they did. All the you are applying too are good schools.

sciences in philadelphia isn't bad at all; small campus, but great recreation center and the city is awesome. Some who attend there says they enjoy being there (I'm not in this school). Btw, you got accepted to tons of pharmacy schools! All are so competitive...what were your high schools grades?!

They are still interviewing....I am still waiting for my phone call for an interview, and getting more stressed as time goes by! Other classmates of mine have applied there and have interviews or will have. They are interviewing through the end of April, as far as I know at this time.

Good luck with all the school choices you have!
