Hand written verse Computer Typed Applications

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Why is that? And if anyone knows how to save an edited PDF when it says you cannot please let me know.

Dude it literally takes one google search. Download cabaret stage and use it.

I feel like making edits and being neat would be done more easily.
My handwriting sucks, as well.

If you feel like wasting the money there's always Adobe Acrobat professional. I use it pretty frequently for other stuff, but PDF editing is what people commonly use it for. There's a discount if you sign up as a student (though you have to provide proof).

I prefer the computer written ones for that reason. The only argument I can think of for the handwritten one is that it is more personal. My hand writing can be really good but it varies.

Thanks. Wasn't aware PDFs could be opened on other programs. Not the biggest computer person.

Eh, the whole "more personal" argument for handwritten things often is quickly forgotten by my irritation at having to focus so much energy on figuring out what their half print-half cursive is supposed to be saying instead of just reading and understanding the idea they're trying to share.

Cursive kind of died out I feel like. We had to learn it in elementary school because we would need to use it "for the rest of our lives" and it never really materialized. Typing and computer classes would have been so much more beneficial. The only time I have ever had to use cursive was to sign my name and write something on the SAT.

Download Evince. I think it's part of the GNU project, so it's open source freeware. It will let you edit PDFs.

Haha, agreed! What was the point of learning it??

Anyway, I'd always go with typed (I didn't realize anyone handwrites applicaitons...). It's much easier to edit (white-out is a big no no!!) and read.

Some schools (U of S Carolina comes to mind) have a print out application that can't be submitted online. Therefore, people who don't have PDF editing software tend to hand write the application.

Your application should be printed. Any thank you notes or personal correspondences thereafter can be hand written for a personal touch, so long as it's legible.

Health records are become computerized anyway so I would recommend typing for those of us with crappy handwriting 🙂
