Handpieces

Cheap handpieces off ebay are fine. I bought 10 of them for $50 each and they have worked better than those costly Midwest costing 20X as much. You simply throw them out when they break...no need to spend $100-$300 fixing them.

I bought my loupes off of e-bay. Several of my classmates have had their stolen lab supplies appear on e-bay.

Does it come with the dent-o-form like in the picture? Very nice touch.

a buddy of mine bought a high speed off of ebay and it works fine. as for the lab unit, not a bad price but you have to consider the cost of the air compressor on top of that. i bought a home unit for ~100...its great for those days when you have to get something done and the school lab is not an option.

Where's the best bet for burs?

They gouge us 10-15 dollars a diamond and was wondering if it gets better than that? Plus their selection of burs are crap. "These are all they give you, these suck" said my bench instructor.

Most likely ebay. I have all these SSWhite, Brasseler, Premiere burs but the 60 cents ebay noname diamond bur from some noname Atlanta company actually cut quieter, quicker, and smoother.

Great idea. Unfortunately it only took me 10 years of private practice to figure it out. Buy a $50 or $100 handpiece and throw it out when it goes down or buy a Star 430SWL for $800 and when it goes down pay $150-200 to repair it. Unfortunately once I figured that out I switched to electrics🙁

I've been using Microcopy since the day they opened. I talked to Tom Maas up until he retired and even though I am an instructor now I still talk to Perry Parke (actually we "talk" on facebook more). Great stuff, cheap price, excellent service and despite being "disposable" you can use them multiple times if you like.

Agreed, midwest is way too expensive. All we need is something that spins fast. Ebay says you can fix a midwest for $50 though. Midwest charges an arm and leg
