After being accepted into pharmacy school you simply have to maintain a 2.0 average to graduate with PharmD. Does this mean that most pharmacy students don't overwork themselves for high grades other than self-satisfaction? I've looked into it, and there are almost no scholastic advantages to pursuing a high GPA in pharmacy school.

Maybe I am totally off, but should I be looking forward to getting accepted into pharmacy school so I can have a social life without the stress of "having to get that A"?

Oh yeah, and McGriddles are the best hangover cure.

I have said for years that a sausage biscuit with egg, hashbrown, and a diet coke is the perfect ratio of carbs, fat and protein to help a hangover.

The other thing I found to help is manual labor. I used to have to work ona horse farm every saturday and sunday, I would hate myself for about amn hour, but oncve I worked through it I felt like a million bucks.

Ewww... that looks really gross! :barf:

I thought that too, until I tried one. They're really good, it's like if you took a breakfast sandwich and made it with pancakes instead of a bagel/muffin/biscuit/etc.

Thinking of it's working up my appetite.

Don't get me wrong... it's a cool thread and all.

I just don't get hangovers, because I never drink enough to get that drunk or drink enough to become uber-dehydrated, so maybe I just don't understand the magic behind the McGriddle. 😕

I've never actually had one while hungover. I've always been stone sober while enjoying one. Try one sometime, they're a lot better than they look.

Maybe I'll have to try one- even if that's against my better judgment. LOL! 😛

You think it'll be good without the meat? I only eat veggies, eggs, and dairy plus a little seafood.

Times are changing. You may want to bet on the likelihood that good grades will not just be for those who want to pursue a residency/hospital position. Major retail chains like Wags are restructuring, cutting up to 50% of pharmacists in each district as the new system moves forward. By the time you graduate your grades may matter when it comes to getting a decent retail position because an oversupply will allow them to be more selective.

I'm sure McGriddles hit the spot for a hangover, but that crap isn't food it's poison. I havn't seen the nutr. data but I'm sure it contains a weeks worth of salt, sugar, and 2 days of fats(trans and saturated) not including the syrup and other stuff you probably stick in or on it. There actually probably isn't anything worse that you could eat after consuming too much alcohol.

Triple Whopper w/ cheese and bacon?

Awesome Blossom from Chili's?

stop! you're makng me hungry!

I'm letting myself eat crap one more week (since I'm driving across the country with 2 dogs = drive thrus).

After that I have to settle down 🙁 I was doing really well until like 2 weeks ago, Iwas down 8 lbs.

My class is 50:50 laid-back-don't-care types and grade Nazis striving for the 4.0. I think at our Rho Chi nomination everyone had a 4.0 (15 or so?)

For the record the best hangover meal is a Two cheeseburger meal with a chocolate shake. I've never made it to McDonald's for breakfast after drinking. . .

What I try doing is hitting up Denny's after the bars close (yes at 2am), order the Grand Slamwich or the Moons Over My Hammy, and then go home and sleep. I have yet to wake up with a hangover while doing that. 😉

I was out in Cajun country today (which is ironic considering who waited on me at MickeyD's), and it was early enough to stop into a MickeyD's and order breakfast- so I did. I ordered a McGriddle without the sausage, which my cashier (who was an Indian lady) completely could relate to, because she didn't eat pork, either.
So, she asks me if I just want the shell, and silly me, thinking that she means all the other stuff without the pork, I said "yeah".
When I look at the sandwich, which she told me to do, I noticed that there was only 2 of the McGriddle pancake thingies without any egg or cheese. So, I asked her why it didn't have any egg and cheese, and she said she thought I wanted just "the shell".
Since I was in a hurry, I just said that it was ok and fine and stuff, and so she apologized, and anyway... I'll have to try the McGriddle again with the pancake thingies AND the egg and cheese.

It's tough being veggie + dairy + ovo + pesci around here... 😛 I'd be exclusively veggie if I could, but thing's just become more complicated and annoying, like whenever people say: "You don't even eat seafood!" 😱

pharmdstudent:

To be completely honest with you a week ago I had NEVER had a McGriddles. Now it's a favorite breakfast/indulgence. Branching out from your regular food selection is always interesting. Theres nothing better than trying a new type of sushi or ordering something you'd never thought of having before.

Give it a shot!

For something new try:

I keep a box near my desk for when I drink whiskey while watching sports-- never have the munchies again!

Speaking of hangovers, I saw "The Hangover" tonight. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

"Haha...it's funny 'cause he's fat!" :laugh::laugh::laugh:

"These gentlemen have volunteered to show you how a stun gun works." Such a good movie. And yeah, Leslie Chow was uncomfortable yet hilarious.
Chow actually reminds me of this guy I know, a to-be pharmacy student.

I think the best was "fat Jesus"!:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
